## 3-Day Tour — Southern Laos Highlights

### Itinerary: Plateau to the islands

#### Day 1 — Pakse to Tad Lo
- **Tad Champee** — A beautiful waterfall flowing into a large natural pool. A great stop for swimming and relaxing.
- **Tad Fane** — The iconic Bolaven Plateau waterfall, where two streams plunge more than 120 metres into a deep jungle gorge.
- **Tad Yuang** — A beautiful multi-level waterfall surrounded by forest.
- **Katu Villages** — On foot or by local tractor with Mr Hook or Mr Somphone, with English-speaking local guides, highland life at its own pace.
- **Overnight at Tad Lo** — A night in the village among forest and waterfalls.

#### Day 2 — Tad Lo to Champasak
- **Tad Lo & Tad Hang** — A morning at the falls beside the village before the drive down toward the Mekong.
- **Vat Paa** — A peaceful Buddhist temple surrounded by forest.
- **Mr Vieng Coffee Farm & Village** — Visit with a local English-speaking guide, learn how Bolaven coffee is grown and processed, tasting included.
- **Wat Phou Champasak** — The pre-Angkorian Khmer temple rising up the hillside, reached in the afternoon.
- **Overnight in Champasak** — A night in the old town on the Mekong.

#### Day 3 — Champasak to the 4000 Islands
- **Khone Phapheng Waterfall** — The largest waterfall in Southeast Asia by volume, thundering across the Mekong.
- **Don Det / Don Khone, or back to Pakse** — Drop-off at the boat pier for Don Det and Don Khone to continue south, or visit the islands and drive back to Pakse with your driver around 5 PM.

## 4-Day Tour — Southern Laos & 4000 Islands

#### Day 1 — Pakse to Tad Lo
- Tad Champee, Tad Fane, Tad Yuang, Katu Villages (same as 3-day Day 1)
- **Overnight at Tad Lo**

#### Day 2 — Tad Lo to Champasak
- Tad Lo & Tad Hang, Vat Paa, Mr Vieng Coffee Farm, Wat Phou Champasak (same as 3-day Day 2)
- **Overnight in Champasak**

#### Day 3 — Champasak to Don Det / Don Khone
- **Khone Phapheng Waterfall** — The largest waterfall in Southeast Asia by volume.
- **Boat to Don Det / Don Khone** — Cross to the islands by boat. Suggested for the afternoon: bicycle around the island, a swim, or a sunset boat cruise.
- **Overnight in the 4000 Islands** — A night on Don Det or Don Khone by the Mekong.

#### Day 4 — 4000 Islands
- **Don Det / Don Khone & Li Phi Falls** — Suggested for the morning: a tuk tuk tour around Don Det and Don Khone, Li Phi Falls and the old suspension bridges.
- **Return to Pakse** — Meet your driver and drive back to Pakse in the afternoon.

**What does the multi-day price include?**
The private minivan and driver for the whole trip, fuel, tolls and parking. It's per vehicle for up to 6 people, not per person. Meals, accommodation, entrance fees, boats and personal expenses are not included, so you choose where to stay and eat, or we can arrange an all-inclusive version.

**Should I choose the 3-day or the 4-day tour?**
The 3-day and 4-day share the same first two days, nights in Tad Lo and Champasak, with the plateau, villages and Wat Phou. The 3-day then finishes at the 4000 Islands and can drive back the same day. The 4-day adds a night on the islands and a full day to explore Don Det and Don Khone. Tell us your dates and we'll help you choose.

**Can the tour end on the islands instead of back in Pakse?**
Yes. Both tours finish in the 4000 Islands, so you can be dropped there to continue toward Cambodia or to stay on, instead of driving back to Pakse. Just let us know when you book.

**Can you change the route?**
Yes. These are private tours, so the pace and stops are flexible, and we're happy to build a custom version around your interests and dates. Send us what you have in mind.

**Where do we sleep?**
Nights are in Tad Lo, Champasak and on the islands depending on the tour. Accommodation isn't included by default so you can pick your own comfort level, or we can book it for you as part of an all-inclusive package.

**What is the cancellation policy?**
A small deposit secures the booking. It's refundable up to 30 days before departure, less a $15 administration fee. Within 30 days of departure the deposit is non-refundable.
